Jóhann Jóhannsson had his first solo album Englabörn released in 2002. For that occasion I did an editorial portrait, the interview was published in Icelandic magazine. He released his last solo album Orphée in 2016, then signed with Deutsche Grammophon which commissioned me to do his portraits for the release of the album. We did a two days photoshoot, both in my studio as well as in Icelandic nature. The above portraits we did near his childhood home. Jóhann was a humble artist who got his world recognition for the score in films such as Arrival, Sicario and The Theory Of Everything to name a few.
